Advocacy Intake Process
Our advocacy intake process begins with a comprehensive review of your child's educational history, including evaluations, progress reports, IEPs, 504 Plans, and other relevant school records. During the initial consultation, we discuss your concerns, goals, and your child's unique educational needs to identify areas where support may be beneficial. We then provide individualized recommendations, explain your options, and develop a collaborative advocacy plan to help you navigate the IEP or 504 process with confidence and clarity.

Free Consultation
Begin with a complimentary 50-minute consultation to discuss your child's educational needs and your current concerns. During this meeting, we will review your situation, identify potential next steps, and provide guidance regarding special education rights, available supports, and advocacy options. While we do not provide legal advice or practice law, we can help families understand the special education process and make informed decisions.

Fee Estimate
Following the initial consultation, we will provide an estimated scope of services based on your goals and your child's unique needs. Our standard advocacy rate is $150 per hour, with most cases requiring approximately 10–15 hours of support. Services may include record review, parent consultations, advocacy planning, participation in school meetings, and related correspondence. A la carte consultation and services are also available on a case-by-case basis.

Service Agreement
Once you decide to engage our advocacy services, you will receive a service agreement outlining the scope of services, fees, and expectations for our professional relationship. This agreement is designed to ensure clarity and transparency throughout the advocacy process. Advocacy services will begin upon receipt of the signed agreement and payment of the retainer, which is equal to one-half of the estimated minimum advocacy fee.

Records Request
The initial step in the process is obtaining your child’s comprehensive records, including any pertinent educational documentation, for review. Timely access to these materials allows for a more thorough and efficient case assessment. Records are preferred in electronic format (PDF), though hard copies may also be accepted, provided they are not original or irreplaceable documents.

Initial Meeting
An initial parent/guardian meeting will be scheduled via phone or Zoom at the time the service agreement and retainer are completed or shortly thereafter, depending on the availability of records and any upcoming school or agency meetings. This session serves as an important step in developing a clear and effective advocacy plan tailored to your child’s educational needs.

Collaboration
Special education and disability advocacy can be complex, requiring clear and consistent communication throughout the process. We are committed to maintaining regular collaboration to ensure alignment on goals and priorities as we work together on your child’s behalf. Throughout the course of our partnership, we will review progress and make adjustments as needed to support the most effective path toward a successful outcome.
